Spring is in the air and with spring comes the time to secure a budget for the next school year.  The budget for next year will be presented to the town to vote on, Tuesday May 9, 2017 at 7PM in the school gymnasium.  The budget book will be on the school website for review, in the school lobby and will be available on voting night. The budget process starts in November collecting data from teachers, administrators and other sources.  The budget looks at new school initiatives, positions, student population and the upcoming school calendar.  A final budget is presented to the school committee starting in February.  This year the warrant and finance committee joined us as we collectively reviewed all the articles for the budget.  The budget was then voted and approved for the town recommendations on April 11th by both committees.  These recommendations are on the town warrant that will be voted on by the citizens of Acton on May 9, 2017.   To assist citizens in understanding the recommended FY18 school budget, the School Committee will present an information meeting on Tuesday May 2, 2017, at 6:30PM to answer any questions you may have prior to voting on the 9th.   Please come and learn and support our school.
