APPROVAL OF SCHOOL WARRANTS
The Acton School Committee’s Finance Committee will be authorized to sign the School Department Warrants for presentation to the Town’s municipal officers for payment. The Finance Committee shall consist of two members of the School Committee and one alternate, appointed by the Chairperson, who will serve a term of one fiscal year. The members of this committee shall be authorized to sign checks and the warrant. In the event that one member of the finance committee is not available to sign the warrant, for any reason, then the alternate will be authorized to sign it.
The School Department’s warrant shall be signed by the members of the Finance Committee or the alternate. The warrant shall contain no less than two of these authorized signatures.
Should the occasion arise that circumstances prevent the signing of a warrant by the Finance Committee members, the Superintendent can authorize in writing that the municipal officers may proceed with the warrant approval and payment of payroll and bills. The Superintendent will notify the School Committee members in writing that the action was taken and the reasons why.
